Little Golden Books are still a favorite collectible today! This series of children’s books was created in 1942. Priced at 29 cents and available in department stores, these books were designed to be affordable for all children especially during the tough times of the World War II era. The sturdy cardboard cover made them durable and the colorful pages were beautifully illustrated.
Over two billion Little Golden Books in a variety of titles have been printed since this 1942 Prayers for Children featured find. One of the most popular titles that still printed today is The Poky Puppy.
