These perfectly crafted leather boots were used as a salesman’s sample to showcase the craftsmanship of boot maker and leather worker, Joseph Sirilo of Cleveland Ohio, USA. Lined with homespun style fabric, trimmed with a tiny leather button and hand stitched edges. Smooth leather bottoms are fastened with wooden pegs.
Salesman’s Samples were generally made by a manufacturer to exhibit to the customer the workings and details of their product, for example: a miniature cooking stove or a garden plow hand tool. These boots display the fine craftsmanship of a leather worker and shoemaker in the 1920s. One of a kind!
