Depression Glass

Depression era glassware is still a popular collectible! Favorite colors and patterns make it easy to identify and fun to collect. Most of the pieces were inexpensively made and mass produced in the 1930’s. The glassware was given as a premium in soap boxes, flour bags or other household staples as a buying incentive. Pattern sets were available at the local 5 & 10 Stores or by mail order.

Early in my collecting career, in the 1970’s, a typical garage sale offered several depression glass items. Many of the pieces were chipped, yet still commanded a high price! The popularity of this glassware was one of the reasons reproductions started to emerge on the market. In my shop today, pink and green are the most popular colors. Cobalt blue colored glass remains the hardest to find.

My customers buy only perfect pieces, shying away from any patterns that reproductions were offered. We have a variety of patterns and colors in perfect condition available in our shop. Call us for more details at (419) 867-1676 or come in and view our entire depression glassware selection.
